EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – PODIATRY SERVICES – HESSE RURAL HEALTH

About Hesse Rural Health
Hesse Rural Health is a key integrated rural health care provider located within the three local government areas of Surf Coast, Colac Otway and Golden Plains. The organisation provides a broad range of services which include: Aged Residential including Dementia Specific Care, Sub-Acute Hospital, Urgent Care, Community Health, Health Promotion, District Nursing, Allied Health, Palliative Care, Home Care Packages, Planned Activity Groups, Facilitated Play Groups and Occasional Child Care.
Services operate from sites at Winchelsea, Beeac, Rokewood and Bannockburn. Hesse provides a community based, multi-disciplinary team approach to the identified health needs of the population and aims to promote the wellbeing of the rural community it serves. The Winchelsea campus is located 30 minutes from Geelong and Colac.

Podiatry Services
Contracted podiatry services are provided from the Winchelsea Community Health Centre based at 12 Gosney Street Winchelsea, on a sessional basis. Attractive daily room hire rates are available in room fitted with a treatment chair and on site plumbing. Current service demand exists for approximately one full day session per fortnight, although growth is anticipated. A reception and booking service is included, but contracted podiatrists will provide their own invoicing and billing arrangements directly to clients serviced. Days of service to be negotiated in accordance with room availability. A meals room and photocopying facilities are available for use.
Contracted podiatry services are provided to persons living permanently within Hesse Rural Health’s aged residential care facilities; Hesse Lodge, Chelsea Lodge and Werruna. A treatment chair is available from Hesse’s Urgent Care facility. Bookings are undertaken in advance. Nursing and care staff support resident attendance at appointments. Invoicing for aged resident services is made directly to Hesse Rural Health.
Successful applicant will be invited to enter into service agreements for the provision of services and room hire agreement to undertake both community consultation based and aged residential podiatry services. Service agreements will be offered for a two year timeframe.
Commencement date:
Services to commence in January 2020.

Specifications:
The applicant and attending sub contracted professionals will:

  1. Be a registered business of podiatry services within the state of Victoria
  2. Be registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  3. Provide evidence of a current satisfactory National Police Check for all attending professionals
  4. Provide evidence of a current satisfactory Working with Children Check for all attending professionals
  5. Hold professional and public liability insurance for at least $10,000,000
  6. Provide community outpatient based podiatry consultation services from Winchelsea Community Health at least once per fortnight
  7. Provide podiatry Services to persons living within Hesse Rural Health aged care facilities at least once per month or more frequently as able
  8. Provide competitive and affordable services to the above mentioned client groups
  9. Undertake and manage administrative services and billing requirements independently
  10. Engage with other local health professionals in the provision of podiatry services with view to supporting integrated care and wellness utilising
    such CMBS items including Team Care Arrangements
  11. Be prepared to comply with quality standards of relevant bodies including but not limited to National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and Australian Aged Care Quality Standards
  12. Ensure safe practices are undertaken in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004
  13. Ensure practices meet infection control standards and are in line with AS/NZS 4187:2014 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices in health service organisations
  14. Adhere to the requirements of confidentiality in relation to client and resident care and not disclose information obtained in the course of service to third parties
  15. Ensure clients, residents and wherever relevant carers or nominated decision makers are treated with privacy, respect and are involved in decisions related to service provision
